Aurum. Molecular Gastronomy, 01-02 Block A The Cannery, Clarke Quay. +65-68873733 - their technical advisor worked with El Bulli. Quite playful (their veg noodle soup, with noodles served from a syringe were a highlight), but lacking a good somelier.
Flutes at the fort. Australian. 21 Lewin Terrace, Fort Canning Park - beautiful place for an al fresco lunch. vegetarian friendly, but best ask them in advance if you want a whole veg-menu.

Bar and Restaurant on the 71st floor of the Swissotel Raffles City Shopping Centre (SMRT: City Hall) - 1.5 litre margaritas are quite a sight. cocktails are watery, so best to stick with beer + ice, or a gin&tonic. to avoid on weekends and late evenings if you're not into cheesy mainstream house music.
